Boy London

I like the rough boyish look from time to time. Thanks to my ripped boyfriend jeans and my new Boy London shirt that I found at Phintage by Helen Yard I now can complete the look. Just add some converse to it and your done! A relaxed, loose outfit, perfect during the warmer days that are coming up.

Visiting the NeighbourFoodFlea Market

What I love about Amsterdam is that you can visit a market almost every Sunday. I already told you earlier about the Sunday Market, the Pure Markt or the IJhallen on Sundays. Almost all of these markets in Amsterdam are organized monthly. However, since there are so many, you can easily enjoy, feed and spoil yourself on such a market every Sunday.  So guess what I was doing last Sunday ;)?
My dear friend and old roommate visited me with her daughter. With the Sunny weather, I decided to go to the NeighbourFood market. This market is all about local farmers, cheese- and sausage makers, cake bakers, barista's and wine lovers. Shortly: it is just for anyone who eats, cooks and shares food with love. And man-o-man, what do I feel happy when I am there. I tasted the most lovely chicken-peas pizza from two hardly English speaking Italians. A Spanish tortilla with Spinach suprised me positively. I topped it off with a very very delicious cake, made of dried fruit, nuts and coconut. And swallowed it away with a smoothie. And some wine, since it was after 3pm already :) Oh yeah, and the neighbourFLEA market points to the small and cozy vintage market they have. Not convinced yet? Then the beautiful surroundings of the Westergasfabriek will.
See you there next month?

If you don't want to wait a month for such a good Sunday event, then please also check out Zondagmiddag bij VLLA , trash to treasure  or Klerenbende. I will inform you about these lovely markets in the near future as well!

Visiting Phintage by Helen Yard

Last August, a new vintage shop opened in my neighbourhood de Pijp, Phintage by Helen Yard. A beautiful vintage shop that distinguishes itself because it is divided in two parts: a classic shop and a part with a younger fashion collection. Next to that, what I really like is that it is a real family shop. Helen Yard started the shop together with her daughter Sharon, who is a stylist. Helen's youngest daughter is now responsible for the marketing. With daughter Sharon as a stylist and of course the fashion knowledge of Helen Yard herself, you have your own styling team to help you make your choice. I love the personal character of the shop and the beautiful interior. You can not only go there for fashion inspiration but also to have some interior design ideas. Next to clothes, Helen yard has a wide range of shoes, bags an accessories for you. I can warmly advice all vintage lovers to visit her. And it's not only me who is enthusiastic; Vogue magazine chose the shop as one of the best vintage shops of the Netherlands. Need I say more?

Saturday Lunch @ Droog Hotel

I fi-nal-ly visited Hotel Droog. It was on my top list for quite a while since one of my friends started working there. Despite the name, you really can't name Hotel Droog only a hotel. Hotel Droog is  also a fashion storebeauty shop, an exhibition place and you can drink, eat & sleep here. But Hotel Droog does this all with an undutch high standard. The clothes are all from exclusive catwalk labels. The exhibitions are meant to create discussion between design and society. There only is one hotelroom that consists of all design that you can buy at Droog. With this offer of high class products, Hotel Droog has international allure and therefore attracts a lot of international customers. So please don't only go there for lunch. Although I would understand, because what they serve is de-li-cious. We enjoyed a sandwich hummus with grilled veggies. A sandwich BLT with avocado and pancetta. A smoked salmon salad with asparagus. To top it off, a delicious carrotcake. And of course, all food was served on design plates and was brought at our table by beautiful Hotel Droog people: international & with their own style. Please do have a look and take your time!
