Yay! I am so happy! I finally have a real house. Say goodbye to living with friends and hallo to living with the boyfriend :) And it is really good. With a new house, we also decided to get an almost-new interior. Since we both didn't have that many stuff, we had all the freedom in finding an interior that would fit us both. Because my brothers are cabinet makers, I have the luck that I could design two new tables together with them that are completely my taste of design. And it almost cost nothing :) Of course they are in search of some good PR too, so look underneath for their great industrial designs. The two tables are made of scrapwood and the dining table is combined with two blue trestles we found at this steel fabric where we were allowed to search for some old stuff. Sometimes you just have to be a bit bold to get what you like ;) Because the tables are all but new, with a rough, unfinished look, I have chosen two lockers that fits this kind of look. The large locker is an oldie, I bought through marktplaats (you can find precious things there, but make sure not to pay too much!) from a photographer who used it in her former working space. We are planning to create shelves in this locker and make it a bookcase for all the cooking books (my broyfriend has hundreds of them). We found a nice steel-look bin and I combined eveything with my vintage chesterfield couch, that brings a bit of romance in the living room. I am not yet finished with the accessories yet, but managed to find some old bottles, nice vases and an antler that I have put on the dining table to make it more cosy (the table is 2 meters by 1 meter, so there is enough to decorate it and still have plenty of space to eat!). The industrial table is made more modern with help of my eames friends. Not the real ones yet, I am saving up for those in the future ;)

So Proud!
I am sooo proud! My twinbrothers finally started their own interior design shop! Both just turned 23 years old and finished their exams a few weeks ago. The one studied metalworking and the other studied as a cabinetmaker. During last year when they were heading the final exams of their studies, they decided to combine their talents to get into cabinet making. Together with a friend, who is a pro in creating websites, they created a webshop. Just a few weeks ago, they launched www.ikkmeubels.nl, which is a mix of a webshop with industrial furniture (for which they are the only online selling point) and their website for customized furniture, made by THEM :) They just finished their first assignment in redesigning an office, see underneath for their handmade buffets. So if you like to get your living/bedroom/office or you name it redesigned, than please contact them. They are pro's in creating an edgy, industrial look, but can create anything as you wish. Sounds good hmm? So hurry up and please have a look!

Saturday Lunch @ Droog Hotel
I fi-nal-ly visited Hotel Droog. It was on my top list for quite a while since one of my friends started working there. Despite the name, you really can't name Hotel Droog only a hotel. Hotel Droog is also a fashion store, beauty shop, an exhibition place and you can drink, eat & sleep here. But Hotel Droog does this all with an undutch high standard. The clothes are all from exclusive catwalk labels. The exhibitions are meant to create discussion between design and society. There only is one hotelroom that consists of all design that you can buy at Droog. With this offer of high class products, Hotel Droog has international allure and therefore attracts a lot of international customers. So please don't only go there for lunch. Although I would understand, because what they serve is de-li-cious. We enjoyed a sandwich hummus with grilled veggies. A sandwich BLT with avocado and pancetta. A smoked salmon salad with asparagus. To top it off, a delicious carrotcake. And of course, all food was served on design plates and was brought at our table by beautiful Hotel Droog people: international & with their own style. Please do have a look and take your time!
